In the AO, it's about 5 minutes before you stop getting 100-point ticks if you haven't fired or moved in that time.

This means that if you've found yourself a nice little ambush position and are waiting like a spider for an unwary victim to get caught in your lines of fire, you have to move to a new spot every 5 mins or your ticks stop because the game wrongly assumes you're AFK.

Am I alone in not liking having to do that? I mean, in 'Enemy at the Gates' the snipers spend hours carefully hidden waiting for targets, they don't have to keep getting up and moving elsewhere every 5 mins, or am I missing something?

This is a necessery feature to stop the afkers that came with the reset, if you wanna avoid it you can just run a few meters (best estimate is about 10) and back to your position to keep the system from thinking youre afk if youre not

Thanks..:)

Suggestion- Maybe a programming tweak could be implemented to  let us do a little "twitch" by briefly moving the mouse left or right, instead of having to change our whole position by 10 or more metres.

I have no experience in arma scripting, but there may not even be a way for the mission to track your mouse movement

Nothing to do with programing. That's how it used to be. We changed it because to many people used macro to bypass the afk kick.

I find the easiest thing to do is to take a silenced pistol and switch to that and fire it into the ground.  This starts the count again without you giving away your position by moving from your cover.
